St Mark’s Shared church in its existing location was opened in 1982 and subsequently a new wing was added. It is a joint venture between the Church of England, Methodist and URC denominations. The church previously met in a hall in Saville Crescent and at that time St Mark’s was part of Headley Parish – it is now a parish in its own right. As a LEP (Local Ecumenical Partnership), St Mark’s welcomes people from a wide range of denominations or none. It is part of the Guildford Anglican diocese, the East Solent and Downs Methodist circuit and the Wessex URC synod. All meet together as a whole and united congregation. We all worship together and everyone is welcome.

I was licensed as Leader of St Marks on 12th October 2021. I am a west country boy, born and bred in the working class town of Shepton Mallet in Somerset. I became a Christian when I was 25. My conversion story is a powerful account of the loving Grace of God coming into the life of a troubled man. I have been in ministry now for 18 years and am married to Caroline.

Church Warden
I have lived in Bordon for over 30 years and am married with two children and three grandchildren. I became a member of St Mark’s Church six years ago and have been one of the Church Warden’s for two years.
I am an RAF Forces Veteran, and I am also involved with the local Scouts, helping out with their various activities. I enjoy doing hands on tasks both inside and outside of the church, becoming somewhat of an expert in hedge trimming! In my spare time I enjoy walking, reading and playing golf.

My husband and I moved to Bordon in January 2023 and I have been a member of the Church since April 2023.
I am a Fellow Member of Association of Accounting Technicians (FMAAT) and am a member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP). I am the Head of Transactional Finance for Dimensions which provides person-centered support for adults with learning disabilities and autism, right across the country. I have also written articles for various payroll related publications.
I am new to faith and have not only become the Church Treasurer, but am also a member of the Deanery Synod and Diocesan Synod, whilst also taking part in a two-year Foundation in Ministry course run by the Diocese. My aim is not to become involved in preaching, my focus is quelling my thirst for knowledge and learning more and more about the New Testament whilst being supported by Revd. Iain.

I am a sheep of the Lord attempting imperfectly to follow His will in this little corner of His great and wonderful world. I am truly blessed to be Mumma to three teenage daughters and I work locally with children and young people.
I am deeply grateful that despite my many failings, I continue to know the extraordinary, everlasting and unconditional love of our Heavenly Father through His Spirit by the never-ending sacrifice of His son. My faith is not about being perfect—it is about recognising when I have gone astray (again), turning back to God, asking for forgiveness and keeping going!
I feel very blessed to be part of our family at St Mark’s and honoured the opportunity to serve God here in Bordon as one of his servants.
